Diaphragm filter press has the advantages of high pressure, good corrosion resistance, easy maintenance, safety and reliability. It is the first option for customers in metallurgy, gas, paper making, coking, pharmaceutical, food, brewing and fine chemical industries.
Diaphragm filter press has been widely used in various fields for solid-liquid separation. Diaphragm filter press is considered as an alternative upgrade equipment for ordinary box filter press.
The diaphragm filter press has shown good results in terms of processing capacity per unit area, reducing moisture content of filter cake and adaptability to the properties of treated materials.
The main difference between the diaphragm filter press and the normal chamber filter press is that two elastic membranes are installed on both sides of the filter plate (the composite rubber diaphragm is the integral diaphragm). During the operation, when the feeding is finished, the high-pressure fluid medium can be injected into the diaphragm plate. At this time, the whole diaphragm will bulge up and press the cake, thus realizing the further dehydration of the cake, that is, pressing and filtering.
Diaphragm filter press is used for treating the sludge and sewage. The lowest moisture content of filter cake has been below 60%. Compared to traditional box filter press, the solid content of filter cake can be increased by more than two times. The transportation cost of filter cake is greatly reduced. The filter cake can be directly burned in power plant. The sludge can be changed into resources and sewage can be turned into clean water, which completely replaces the box filter press.

Operational principle
The main difference between the diaphragm filter press and the normal box filter press is that a layer of elastic diaphragm plate is installed between the filter plate and the filter cloth. In the process of operation, when the feeding is finished, the high-pressure fluid medium can be injected between the filter plate and the diaphragm. At this time, the whole diaphragm will bulge up and press the filter cake, thus realizing the further dehydration of the filter cake, that is, press filtration.

First, the positive pressure press to dewater, also known as slurry dewatering, that is, a certain number of filter plates are closely arranged in a row under the action of strong mechanical force. A filter chamber is formed between the filter plate surface and the filter plate surface. The filter material is fed into the filter chamber under strong positive pressure. The solid part of the filter material entering the filter chamber is intercepted by the filter medium (such as the filter cloth) to form a filter cake, and the liquid part is discharged through the filter medium. With the increase of positive pressure, solid-liquid separation is more thorough, but excessive positive pressure is not cost-effective considering energy and cost.
 
After slurry dewatering, a rubber extrusion membrane filter press is equipped, and the compression medium (such as air and water) enters the back of the extrusion membrane to push the extrusion membrane to further dehydrate the extrusion cake, which is called extrusion dewatering. After slurry dehydration or extrusion dehydration, compressed air enters the filter cake side of the filter chamber through the filter cake, carrying liquid moisture from the other side of the filter cake through the filter cloth to discharge the filter chamber and dehydrate, called wind-blown dehydration. If both sides of the filter chamber are covered with filter cloth, the liquid can be uniformly discharged through the filter cloth on both sides of the filter chamber to dehydrate on both sides of the filter chamber.
 
After dehydration, the mechanical pressure of the filter plate is relieved, and the filter plate is opened step by step, and the cake is unloaded by opening the filter chamber separately as one of the main working cycles. Based on the different properties of filter materials, press filters can be equipped with slurry feeding dehydration, extrusion dehydration, air blowing dehydration or single-sided and double-sided dehydration respectively, in order to minimize the moisture content of filter cake.

Structural characteristics:
The diaphragm filter press is composed of a diaphragm filter plate (which is composed of two polypropylene diaphragms and a high-strength polypropylene core plate) and a box filter plate that is arranged into a filter chamber, the slurry is fed into the filter chamber under the pressure of the feed pump. The solid and liquid in the slurry are separated by the filter cloth. When the solid in the slurry forms a cake, the appropriate pressure air is injected into the diaphragm filter chamber to filter. The solid in chamber is fully pressed to reduce water content. This machine has its unique characteristics especially for the filtration of viscous materials and users who require standard for water content.
 
It adopts automatic pulling plate of low-start frequency conversion reducer, PLC program control, time-saving and labor-saving, simple operation and stable performance.

Classification of Diaphragm Press Filter
According to different diaphragm materials, the new generation of diaphragm filter press can be divided into rubber diaphragm press and polymer elastomer diaphragm press.

Rubber diaphragm filter press is ideal for filter materials with weak acid, alkali and non-organic solvents. The rubber diaphragm filter press has changed the disadvantage of the split fixed type to save energy after feeding. The new design makes the rubber diaphragm to bulge more fully and uses less pressure and gas. Under the same gas source, the rubber diaphragm is three times as high as bulge of the polymer diaphragm , which can greatly reduce energy consumption.
 
Polymer elastomer diaphragm filter press is used in strong acid, strong alkali and organic solvent materials. Its performance is relatively better and its service life is longer. Its pressing forms are divided into gas (air) pressing and liquid (water) pressing, which can meet the needs of different industries. According to the customer's requirements, the pressing components can be configurable in food grade and normal grade, and the control can adopt PLC and man-machine interface. For normal materials, after 3-15 minutes, the diaphragm can full bulge and play the role of squeezing dehydration. For some special materials, the stage pressing method can also be used, that is, first pressing under low pressure and then pressing under high pressure.
 
The diaphragm filter press realizes the filtration process of high efficiency dehydration, and can ensure the filter press to play the best filtering effect, greatly reducing the moisture content of filter cake. At the end of the feeding process, the dewatering efficiency of the whole machine is improved by pressing the filter cake, increase the dryness of the filter cake, reducing pollution and labor force, and even eliminating the drying process in some processes.

Model selection of Press Filter
Plate and frame filter press is to extrude the plate and frame so that the water in the sludge can be discharged through the filter cloth to achieve the purpose of dewatering. It is mainly composed of concave filter plate, frame, automatic-pneumatic closed system board suspension system, filter plate vibration system, air compression device, filter cloth high-pressure washing device and photoelectric protection device on one side of the body. The following aspects should be considered:
(1) Material of frame.
(2) Material of filter plate and cloth. Corrosion resistance and tensile strength of filter cloth are required.
(3) Moving mode of filter plate. Require it can be completed automatically or semi-automatically by hydraulic-pneumatic device to reduce the labor intensity of operators.
(4) The filter cloth vibration device makes the cake easy to fall off.

Five advantages of press filter

Cautions for installation of diaphragm filter press
1,
First of all, before installation, the foundation of diaphragm filter press should be leveled, and the horizontal error of each installation datum level should not exceed 2 mm.
2. Install the cylinder support and leveling it with the cushion plate. The two supports are on the same horizontal plane. The bolts between the cylinder and the support shall not be tightened. Then the cylinder is installed on the cylinder support and the anchor bolts shall be tightened.
3. Install tailboard. The tailboard is connected with the main beam by hanging the tailboard (using the central hole of the steel wire rope hanging tailboard).
4. Installation of main beam pillars. The main beam and the cylinder are assembled, and the main beam and the middle support are fixed with the main beam splint.
5. Shim the tailboard flat after installation, install another main beam and fix it with splint. The two main beams and the tailboard positioning chuck should be installed in place without gap.
6. Diaphragm alignment. The height difference between any two points on the two main girders should be less than 3 mm, the height of the main girders should be adjusted with the support and the diagonal error of the frame should be less than 6 mm, which can be achieved by adjusting the left and right position of the tail plate.
7. Install headboard. The head plate is suspended on the track of two main girders, and the coaxiality of the end cover and the piston rod shall be checked. The tolerance of coaxiality is 2 mm. The coaxiality requirement can be achieved by moving the end cover up and down, and left and right. The head plate is connected with the piston rod by installing a pressure plate.
8. Install track box brackets and upper and lower track boxes.
9. Install the transmission part. Including sprocket, chain,motor, hook box, etc. When connecting the chain and the hook box, the two hook boxes should be close to the positioning plate at the end of the track box, and the synchronization accuracy of the two hook boxes should be guaranteed to be less than 4mm.
10. Lift the filter plate onto the main beam track, and the positioning handle is on the same side.
11. Install the filter cloth and put on the filter cloth pressure ring (sewing the filter cloth without pressure ring).
12. Adjust the height of the track box and the distance between the bottom of the handle of the filter plate and the bottom of the upper track box, so as to ensure the stability and reliability of the pulling plate.
 
Cautions for Use of Diaphragm Press Filter
1. Operators must be familiar with the contents of the instructions and operate, adjust, use and maintain them in strict accordance with the requirements of the instructions.
2. Choose high-quality filter cloth, the filter cloth should not be damaged, and the sealing surface should not wrinkle or overlap.
3. Check whether the whole machine parts and components are installed safely, whether the fasteners are tightened, whether the hydraulic system is leaking, and whether the transmission parts are flexible and reliable.
4. Check the quality of hydraulic oil, the height of oil level and the purity of oil. Keep the hydraulic system clean, waterproof and dustproof.
5. After each start, carefully observe the working condition of the machine. If there is any abnormality, the machine should be stopped immediately for maintenance.
6. Oil temperature in the tank should not be higher than 60℃. Water and dust are strictly prohibited in the tank. Oil filters on hydraulic stations should be cleaned regularly. The electrical control part shall conduct an insulation performance test once a month, and the damaged electrical components shall be replaced or repaired in time.
7. When the machine is in use for one month, the oil tank, oil pipeline, oil cylinder, etc., shall be cleaned,replaced with qualified new oil, and then it shall be replaced and cleaned it every six months.
8. Filtration pressure, compression pressure and temperature of material and liquid should not exceed the prescribed value when working. When the maximum displacement of plate frame or compression plate is larger than piston stroke, it is strictly prohibited to start the machine.
9. When starting the oil pump in winter, the hydraulic oil should be heated according to the requirement. When the oil temperature rises to above 15 C, it can be put into use. Application of low pour point hydraulic oil in high and cold areas.
10. It is strictly forbidden to adjust the equipment under the working condition. When the pressure gauge is damaged or no pressure gauge is installed, it is forbidden to start the machine.
11. When replacing the new pipe for the first start-up, personnel shall not be near the high-pressure pipe.
12. For mechanical compaction filter press, great attention should be paid to the compaction situation. It should not run under overload for a long time to avoid burning motor or damaging parts.
13. Frequently check and clear the access to ensure unobstructed access.
14. Wash the filter cloth and the plate frame according to the need when discharging the slag to ensure that the sealing surface is free of impurities.
15. Relative motion parts should be lubricated regularly.
16. When the machine is out of service for a long time, it should be stored in a ventilated and dry room, the hydraulic system should be filled with oil, and the other exposed surfaces should be coated with anti-rust oil. It should be stored in a place where the relative temperature is less than 80% and the temperature is - 15 - 40℃.
17. Filter plates and frames shall not be in contact with oils, acids, alkalis or other substances harmful to the frames. They shall be kept away from heat sources and avoid sunshine and rain.
18. When the diaphragm is pressed, the filter chamber must be filled with the material before pressing. After pressing, the filter plate cannot be opened to unload the material until the air is exhausted , so as to avoid the rupture of the diaphragm. The compressed air pipeline should be checked frequently in the work. If the air pipe falls off or leaks seriously, the intake valve should be closed immediately and the exhaust valve should be opened. It can not be used until it has been repaired. Practical operation instructions can be consulted with the manufacturer.
